Hello!  I just wanted to drop you a line to let you know what's going on in my life now...now 6 years after my high school rowing career ended!  I originally went to U of Central Florida on a rowing scholarship, but due to an unfortunate illness I had to make an unexpected medical withdrawal halfway through my first semester.  I was very upset about that, but it's turned out for the best because I am now back in da' Burgh and very happy here!  I have been working in the estimating department at a general contracting company in Warrendale for about 2 and 1/2 years and I'm loving it!  I moved from the North Allegheny school district to Avonworth where I live with the man I will marry in the next year or so.  His name is Richie and he owns an excavation company and we have a cat named Bub (stands for Beelzebub...he definitely is a little "Devil!")  I miss rowing more than I can explain and I use the rowing machine at my gym as often as I can to just get that taste of what rowing felt like!  (although I don't ever do 2000s or 4000s...that was torture then and it would be even more torture now :)  However, I do still pull a couple power 10s while i'm on the erg and I feel like I'm back in a race again!  Wow, do I miss the good ol' days ;)  My message to the team is to never forget how much the coaches really care...they aren't doing this for the money...they really love to watch you succeed!  And also, enjoy rowing in high school and, if you get the opportunity, college because you may never get the opportunity to do it afterwards!  Enjoy it while you can!
