The North Allegheny Mens Rowing
Team continued its winning ways in 2006 and they invite you to be part of the excitement!
TThe Tigers push to be the best in all
they do so its no surprise that they overcame poor weather and water conditions this
fall to produce some truly great regatta results.
They opened the fall season with three
medals at The Head of the Ohio, a major fall race held in downtown Pittsburgh. The NA Mens Lightweight Doubles took home
both the gold and bronze medals, and the NA Mens High School Quad added another
bronze.&Four of their other five
boats took top 10 spots against very strong competition.
At The Speakmon Regatta in Speakmon Regatta in Columbus, OH, the NA men found
themselves up against cold and windy weather in addition to the 55 other teams competing
there. Seemingly undaunted, they captured the
top spot in both the Mens Open Singles and the Mens Lightweight Singles, as
well as both the first and second places in the Mens Open Quads. All seven of the other mens team boats
grabbed top 10 finishes, including NAs newest team members in the Mens High
School Novice Four and the Mens High School Novice Eight.
More cold and windy weather greeted
the Tigers at their final fall race in early November, the American Heritage River Fall
Classic Regatta in Wyandotte, MI. Once again, the NA
men proved themselves tough as tigers as they brought home three bronze medals thanks to
powerful rowing from both the NA novice and varsity squads the Mens Junior
Novice Eight, the Mens Junior Eight and the Mens Junior Four. The NA Mens Junior Doubles added two more top
five finishes.
In the true spirit of always being
their best, the men of NA Rowing are spending the winter in training as they look forward
to the competition that the spring rowing season will bring.
Look for them to be back on the water in April. In the meantime, theyll be lovin
those ergs and getting ready for the 9th Annual North Allegheny Indoor
Rowing High School Championships to be held on the first Saturday of March 2007.
