Tigers Successful at Midwest Rowing Championships

North Allegheny’s Tiger Rowers showed their strength and versatility at this weekend’s Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships, with 20 of their 24 boats qualifying for the finals.  13 of those boats captured medals, including gold and silver medal sweeps in the men’s varsity singles, doubles and quads as well as the women’s varsity quads.  The team also earned a silver medal in the women’s varsity singles.  The men’s novice and freshmen eights both took bronze medals, as did the women’s varsity pair and the men’s varsity pair. 

 

A total of 49 top high school teams from 12 midwestern states came together on Harsha Lake near Cincinnati, Ohio for the two-day regional championships.  Boats finishing each junior and varsity event in the top two spots qualified for US Rowing National Youth Invitationals, which will be held in June.
