
North Allegheny Rowers Capture Two National Titles

Alleghenys men proved themselves to be a force to reckon with at the national level,
capturing two national titles as well as two silver medals and three bronze medals at the
USRowing National Championship Regatta. They
also ended the competition as the top mens high school program in the country,
finishing third in total mens team points behind two private rowing clubs.
The USRowing summer
event, held at Eagle Creek Reservoir in Indianapolis, Indiana, attracted 1,200 athletes
that included former, current and future national team rowers. The Tigers fielded 16 athletes, all rowers from
the teams optional summer sculling camp under the coaching of Aaron LeDonne.
In the 16-and-under
category, Ryan Mohan and Alan Meininghaus took the gold in the Mens Junior B Double
while Brian Marcus, Adam Reckless, Zac ONeill, and Steven Marcus did the same in the
Mens Junior B Quad.
In the 18-and-under
category, NAs Andrew Kaiser and Singen Elliott finished with a silver in the
Mens Junior A Double, as did the crew of Rory Dahl, Andrew Kaiser, Joseph Brendel,
and Singen Elliott in the Mens Junior A Quad. Singen
Elliott scored again with a bronze in the Mens Junior A Single.
Taylor Sandora and
Steven Marcus contributed a bronze medal in the 16-and-under Mens Junior B Double. Teammates Ryan Mohan, Alan Meininghaus, Josh Weis,
and Taylor Sandora combined for a bronze in the Mens Junior B Quad.
