NA Rowers Take Twelve Medals at Midwest Championships

Saturday, May 13 & Sunday, May 14, 2006

Undaunted by frequent bouts of rain, the North Allegheny Tiger Rowers topped the competition from 56 other high school teams to take gold medals

in four events at the 2006 Midwest Scholastic Championships.  They didn’t stop there, capturing four silver medals and four bronze medals as well.

The Tigers traveled to Harsha Lake at East Fork State Park near Cincinnati, Ohio for two days of intense competition against teams representing eight

states.  They successfully defended their traditionally strong positions in both the men’s and women’s Double and Quad events, qualifying eight boats

for US Rowing Youth Invitationals in June.

The Tigers will complete their regular spring season next weekend at the Stotesbury Cup Regatta on Philadelphia’s famed Schuylkill River.
