NA Rowers Claim Top Finishes at Head of the Ohio

Saturday, October 7, 2006

North Allegheny kicked off the fall rowing season with a strong showing at the Head of the Ohio, a major fall rowing event held on the Allegheny River.  The Tigers took first place in two events and captured top-three finishes in five others.  15 of their 16 boats had top-ten finishes.

The Head of the Ohio regatta brought together 79 college, high school, club and corporate teams representing 12 states and one Canadian province.  The event showcased Pittsburgh’s outstanding venue for the sport of rowing and the excellence of its local teams.

The Tigers will next be in action at the Jack Speakmon Memorial Regatta in Columbus, Ohio on Saturday, October 28.
