Tigers Earn Medals in Three Events at Pittsburgh Scholastic Sprints

Saturday, May 5 & Sunday, May 6, 2007

North Allegheny’s rowers took on the competition from 21 Western Pennsylvania and Northern Ohio teams at this weekend’s Pittsburgh Scholastic Sprints and came away with strong performances.  High winds caused the cancellation of the smaller boat events where NA has traditionally been strong.  Despite that limitation, the Tigers captured three medals - a silver and two bronzes.

The two-day event, held on Lake Arthur at Moraine State Park, closed with the Tigers capturing the second place finish in the Men’s Junior Lightweight Fours and third place in the Men’s JV Fours.  The Lady Tigers added a third place finish in the Women’s Junior Lightweight Fours.

The Tigers will test themselves again against these teams and many others from across the Midwestern states when they travel to Cincinnati next weekend for the Midwest Scholastic Rowing Championships.
